Farm Ponds Construction
Access to water is key to enduring prosperity. Vanavasi Krishi Mitra is currently undertaking the construction of three new farm ponds within the agricultural lands of our partner tribal villages.
This vital initiative, costing approximately ₹5 Lakhs, will dramatically improve water security by capturing and storing precious rainwater.
Nurturing Native Varieties
Vanavasi Krishi Mitra is actively working to preserve and promote indigenous agriculture through our Native Seed Distribution Project. We are freely distributing high-quality native seeds of Moringa, Bamboo, and Tomato to over 20 farmer families in two tribal villages. This initiative aims to encourage the cultivation of resilient desi varieties, which are perfectly adapted to local conditions.
Looking ahead, Vanavasi Krishi Mitra is excited to announce our upcoming plan to establish community nurseries directly within the tribal villages.
This project envisions creating local hubs for growing resilient saplings and seedlings of various native fruit trees, medicinal plants, and forest species.
Leaf Plates Production
Vanavasi Krishi Mitra is planning an exciting new initiative: establishing leaf plate production units in tribal villages. This project aims to leverage abundant local resources, such as Sal or Areca leaves, to create sustainable and eco-friendly dinnerware .
